Sanskrit Scholarship is a governmental scholarship. It is provided through Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. The aim of the scholarship is to develop and promote Sanskrit language and literature. This scholarship is available for students of Class 9 to 12, graduation, post-graduation and PhD who are studying Sanskrit as a main or optional subject. The scholarship grants students up to Rs. 1500 according to their qualifications.

How To Apply For Sanskrit Scholarship
You may follow the below steps to apply easily for Sanskrit Scholarship. Go below –
- Firstly, go to the official website – CLICK HERE
- Now, click on the “Scheme” option there.
- If, you are eligible for the scholarship, you have to choose “New Registration” option.
- Fill up all the details of the Application form.
- After conformation of your details, you will receive a mail form Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan.
- After activation, you have to go to the website again and Click on the “Candidate Login For Online Scholarship Application” option.
- You have to re-enter your mobile number and email id and password again.
- Now, click on the “Login” option.
- Now, fill all the details as mentioned.
- Check it again and submit it.
- Download it for another purposes.

Eligible Criteria For Sanskrit Scholarship
1) For Class 9th standard
- Candidate have top passed their previous exam successfully. (8th or Equivalent).
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit in current year.
2) For Class 10th standard
- Candidate have to passed their previous exam successfully. (9th or Equivalent).
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit in current year.
3) For Class 11th standard
- Candidate have to passed their previous exam successfully. (10th or Equivalent).
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class.
4) For Class 12th standard
- Candidate have to passed their previous exam successfully. (11th or Equivalent).
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class.
5) B.A (1st)/ B.A (Hons)(1st)/ Shastri (1st) or Equivalent
- Candidate have to passed their previous exam successfully. (12th or Intermediate or Equivalent).
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class.
6) B.A (2nd)/ B.A (Hons)(2nd)/ Shastri (2nd) or Equivalent
- Candidate have to passed their previous exam successfully. [B.A (1st)/ B.A (Hons)(1st)/ Shastri (1st) or Equivalent].
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class.
7) B.A (3rd)/ B.A (Hons)(3rd)/ Shastri (3rd) or Equivalent
- Candidate have to passed their previous exam successfully. [B.A (2nd)/ B.A (Hons)(2nd)/ Shastri (2nd) or Equivalent].
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class.
8) M.A (1st)/ Acharya (1st) Year or Equivalent in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit
- Candidate have to passed their Graduation exam successfully. [B.A (3rd)/ B.A (Hons)(3rd)/ Shastri (3rd) or Equivalent].
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class.
9) M.A (2nd)/ Acharya (2nd) Year or Equivalent in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit
- Candidate have to passed their Previous exam successfully. [M.A (1st)/ Acharya (1st) Year or Equivalent].
- Applicant have to score overall 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit.
- Candidate have to optioned Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class.
10) Ph.D/ Vidyavaridhi or Equivalent in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit
- Candidate have to passed their Previous exam successfully. [M.A (2nd)/ Acharya (2nd) Year or Equivalent].
- The registration of the candidate in Ph.D. course should be done before advertisement and not more than two years from the date of registration.

Age Limit of Sanskrit Scholarship
Applicant should be below the age of 33 years. There is a 2 years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
