Maulana Azad Scholarship 2020-21: Maulana Azad Education Foundation, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, offers Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship to the meritorious girl students who belong to one of the minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains). Girl students from class 9th to 12th are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Candidates can apply online through the official portal http://bhmnsmaef.org before September 30, 2020. There is also Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) offered by University Grants Commission (UGC) to the students of minority communities.
Candidates are provided five-year fellowships in the form of financial assistance who are studying M.Phil and PhD programs in India. Candidates can apply online through the official portal https://www.ugc.ac.in before December 2020 of every year.

Maulana Azad Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The following are the conditions for eligibility for Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship and Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) 2020:
1) Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must belong from the minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains).
- Only girl students who study from Class 9th to 12th are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have passed the previous qualifying examination with at least 50% marks.
- The annual family income of the student must not be more than INR 2 lakhs per annum.
2) Maulana Azad National Fellowship Eligibility Criteria
- The applicants must have cleared UGC NET/CSIR NET examination to be eligible for MANF.
- Candidates must be from minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains)
- Candidates should be registered for full-time M.Phil/PhD course from a recognized university
- Candidates must have passed Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks
- Transgender candidates can also apply for this fellowship
- The annual family income of the students must not exceed INR 6 lakhs per annum.

Maulana Azad Scholarship Rewards
The selected candidates will receive these scholarship amounts bellowed-
1) Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship Amount
- Class 9th and 10th: Admission and Tuition fees of INR 5000 per annum
- Class 11th and 12th: Admission and Tuition fees of INR 6000 per annum
2) Maulana Azad National Fellowship Rewards
- INR 25000 per month is provided for two-years (JRF) and INR 28000 per month (SRF) for the rest of the tenure.
- Humanities, Social Science and Commerce: INR 10000 per annum for two-years and INR 20500 per annum for remaining three-years
- Science: INR 12000 per annum for two-years and INR 25000 per annum for remaining three-years
- Escorts/Reader Assistance: INR 2000 per month in case of physically and visually challenged candidates

Step-1: Registration and Verification
- Visit the Official Website http://bhmnsmaef.org
- Click on the “Registration” option.
- Fill the registration details like- Name, Paren’t name, State, Address, School details, Mobile number and other details.
- Submit the registration form.
- Download the “School Verification Form” from the given link.
- Verify the downloaded School Verification Form from the Principal and upload to the portal.
Step-2: Log in and Final Submission
- Visit the Official Website http://bhmnsmaef.org
- Click on the “”Login button and log in with the given User ID and Password.
- Fill in the remaining details like-Bank details, Marks details, Parent’s Occupation and Income details.
- Upload all the necessary documents (see below).
- Submit the application form to complete the process.

- Go to the section for Maulana Azad National Fellowship.
- Fill the form and attach the required documents (see below).

- Mark sheet of the last exam passed attested by the Principal.
- School / College admission Slip, verified Certificate by the Principal or Headmaster.
- Attested passport size photograph.
- Self-declaration of Minority Community Certificate.
- Self-certified copy of the first page of the bank / postal account passbook which should be in the name of the students.
- A copy of the student’s Aadhaar card (in case of unavailability of Aadhaar card, applicants can submit a birth certificate, BPL card or Ration card).
