PFMS Scholarship 2021. An initiative of the Central Government, The Public Finance Management System (PFMS) Scholarship is announced to provide financial funds to the deserving and meritorious students. Under the PFMS Scholarship Scheme, many incentives will also be provided to the students who belong to different backward categories that are SC, ST, OBC, and even the people who belong to economically backwards society. Eligibility Criteria to apply for the PFMS Scholarship in Different Scholarships
Different schemes under the PFMS Scholarship have a set of eligibility requirements. The eligibility requirements for all the scholarships are listed below:
1) PFMS Scholarship for College/ University Students
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should have passed the Class 12 examination.
- The student should be the top scorers (among the top 20%) in the field of education.
- The candidate should be between 18-25 years of age.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.

2) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ ST Students
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should have passed the Class 10 examination.
- All SC students of class 12th are eligible for the professional courses, Diploma, Graduate Degree, M. Phil., Ph.D., Postdoctoral programs.
- Candidate’s parental income should be below than 2.5 lakhs annually
3) PFMS National Means cum Merit Scholarship
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should have passed the Class 8th or 9th passed with 55% for general and 50% from Govt/Govt Aided Schools
- The applicant does not take up a part-time/full-time job
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.
4) PFMS National Incentive Scheme for Girl Child
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should have passed the Class 8th examination from Govt/Govt Aided Schools
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.
5) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for OBC Students
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should have passed the Class 10 examination.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 1,00,000.
6) PFMS Merit Upgradation Scheme of SC Students
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The SC/ST students are studying in class 9th to 12th.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.
7) PFMS Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
- The SC/ST students are studying in Engineering, Medicine/Dentistry, Law, Management, and other Specialized Streams.
- The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.

Know about Rewards and Benefits of Various Fields of PFMS Scholarship
Different schemes under the PFMS scholarship offer variable financial assistance to the selected candidates. Here are the scholarship benefits for the different schemes explained in detail below:
1) PFMS Scholarship for College/ University Students
- Graduate-level students receive INR 1000 for the first 3 years of college and university courses.
- Post Graduation level candidates receive INR 2000 per month for the first 3 years of college and university courses.
- Students pursuing professional degrees receive INR 2000 per month in the 4th and 5th years.
- All scholarships are paid only for 10 months in a year.
2) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ ST Students
- Maintenance allowance
- Reimbursement of non-refundable fees
- Study tour charges
- Thesis printing charges for research scholars
- Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses
- Book bank facility for specifies courses
- Additional allowance for disabled students for the entire duration of the course
3) PFMS Pre-matric Scholarship for SC Students
- INR 150 per month for day scholars and INR 350 for hostelers.
- INR 750 per annum for day scholars and INR 1000 for hostelers.
4) PFMS National Means cum Merit Scholarship
- The scholarship amount of INR 6000 per annum given in quarterly instalments of INR 1500 each for 4 years.
5) PFMS National Incentive Scheme for Girl Child
- The scholarship amount of INR 3000 per annum
6) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for OBC Students
- Variable financial pay
7) PFMS Merit Upgradation Scheme of SC Students
- Package of INR 25,000 thousand per student per year.
- INR 15,000 per student per year as under- Boarding & Lodging charges @ Rs. 900 pm for 10 months, Pocket Money @ Rs. 300 for 10 months, Books and Stationery Rs. 3,000
- INR 10,000 per annum as an honorarium to Principal, Experts, and other incidental charges.
8) PFMS Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students
- Full tuition fee and other non-refundable charges (there will be a ceiling of Rs. 2.00 lakh per annum per student towards fee in the private institutions and Rs.3.72 lakh per annum per student in private commercial pilot training institutions).
- Living expenses @ of Rs.2220 per month per student
- books and stationery @ Rs.3000 per annum per student and
- The latest computer with full accessories limited to Rs. 45000 per student as one-time assistance. Living expenses, costs of books and stationery and computer are subject to actual.
How can you Apply for PFMS Scholarship?
The PFMS Scholarship registration is done online. The candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria for the scholarship scheme before applying for the scholarship. Here is the step-wise procedure to apply for the scholarship given below:
- Step 1: Visit the PFMS Scholarship official website https://pfms.nic.in
- Step 2: Click on the “Student Registration” section and select
- Step 3: Select “Scholarship for University/ College Students”.
- Step 4: Fill in all details such as Class 12 Start year, End year, Education board, and bank details life account number and branch IFSC code.
- Step 5: Click on the “Menu” button, select the “Category” and click on “Search”.
- Step 6: Enter a valid mobile number; an OTP will be sent to that number.
- Step 7: Enter the OTP received and should verify the identity after entering a valid Email ID.
- Step 8: Click on the link sent to the email address and create a User ID and password to apply for the scholarship.

- Step 10: Click on “Submit” to complete the registration process.
PFMS Scholarship Documents Required
The candidates need to upload documents along with the application form while applying for the scholarship. Here is the list of documents required given below:
- Scanned copy of the passport-size photograph (less than 1 MB in size)
- Copy of mark sheet of the candidates in PDF format
- Scanned signature of the candidate
- Fee receipt copy to be uploaded in PDF format
- Copy of Class/ Category/ Reservation certificate in PDF format
- Aadhaar card copy
- Bank details
- Identity proof of the candidate
- Income certificate
- Caste certificate
- Any other essential document based on need.
How to Apply for Renewal of PFMS Scholarship?
All the scholars who are availing the scholarship benefits need to renew their scholarships every year. The renewal process is done online, and the candidates should visit the PFMS scholarship website regularly to get updates about the renewal dates. Here is the step by step scholarship renewal process given below:
- Step 1: The candidates willing to renew the scholarship, should visit the PFMS Scholarship official website https://pfms.nic.in
- Step 2: Click on the “PFMS Student Scholarship Renewal” option.
- Step 3: The students should enter details such as Class 12 Start year, End year, Education board, and bank details life account number and branch IFSC code.
- Step 4: The PFMS Scholarship renewal form is displayed partially filled with the applicant details.
- Step 5: Update the mobile number, and an OTP will be sent to that number.
- Step 6: Update the email ID and click on the verification link.
- Step 7: Finally, the candidate should update the registration details and click on the “Submit” button to complete the renewal process.
Process To Know Your Payment
To know your payment in the scholarship, you need to follow the simple steps given below:-
- Step 1: Visit at the official Website https://pfms.nic.in
- Step 2: Click on “Know Your Payment Options”.
- Step 3: Enter the asked information.
- Step 4: Click on “search.”

The scholarship amount is disbursed to the selected candidates in two ways- i) Payment through Aadhaar card number and ii) Payment through Bank account number. The candidates can check the payment status on the PFMS scholarship website.
Payment through Aadhaar card number
- The candidates are required to enter their valid Aadhaar card number and confirm the same.
- The applicant should enter the word verification code displayed on the screen and click on “Search”.
Payment through Bank account number
- The candidate should select the Bank in which they have their account.
- Then enter the full account number and confirm the same.
- Enter the word verification code displayed on the screen
- Click on “Search”.
How can you Track NPS Payment Status Under PFMS?
- Step 1: Visit the official Website https://pfms.nic.in
- Step 2: Click on “Track NPS Status” option
- Step 3: Enter bank, account number or NPS Application ID
- Step 4: Enter the verification code
- Step 5: Click on “Search” option
