This is an approach which will provide these students with better opportunities for higher studies and increase their rate of pursuing higher education. This will certainly give a considerable boost to their employ-ability.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minority Communities<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b>Area of coverage:-<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">This scheme is meant for minority category students of India who are studying in a government or private higher secondary school\/ college\/ University. The scheme also covers those residential institutes of the Government as well as the eligible private institutes that are selected with utmost transparency by the concerned State Government\/ Union Territory Administration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">It also rewards scholarship for the technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training institutes\/ Industrial Training Center&#8217;s affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training i.e NCVT (for class 11 and 12 level).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">However any course whose duration is less than one year is not under the provision of this scheme. Scholarships for Certificate courses are also not granted by the scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Distribution of rewards of Post Matric Scholarship<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Under Section 2 ( c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act,1992, the following communities have ? notified as minority communities:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Muslim<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Christian<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Buddhist<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Jain<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Sikh<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Zoroastrians(Parsis).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Apart from Renewal Scholarships a total amount of Five Lakh Rupees have been planned to be distributed as &#8216;fresh&#8217; Scholarships.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Eligibility criteria for Post Matric Scholarship<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following conditions are a must for a student to be eligible for this scholarship scheme:<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">The candidate must belong to Muslim\/ Buddhist\/ Christian\/ Jain\/ Sikh\/ Parsi community.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous exam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">The total family income of the candidate must not exceed Rupees 2 Lakes per annul.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">The candidate can be a day scholar as well as hosteler.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b>Method of selection:-<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><b><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of Scholarships available are limited. Candidates coming from BPL families will be given preference in the ascending order of their total family income.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">No merit list will be made for the rewal cases. Those who have applied for renewal will be eligible for the scholarship if they have obtained at least 50% marks in their last final exam.
